Morsey Constructors is actively recruiting three experienced Project Mangers for the Western Kentucky Region.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Project Manager’s principle responsibility is to deliver the project within budget and time limitations, in accordance with technical specifications, and when specified, in fulfillment of project objectives. The Project Manager is also responsible for job status reporting, integration, coordination, and direction of all project elements and life-cycle stages. This responsibility involves: (1) Identifying interfaces between the activities of functional departments, subcontractors, and other project contributors. (2) Planning and scheduling so that efforts are integrated. (3) Monitoring progress, identifying problems, communicating the status of interfaces to contributors, and initiating and coordinating corrective action.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Thorough understanding of the scope of work is essential. Must possess the ability to prepare technical proposals as well as lead the proposal effort. This responsibility includes conducting proposal reviews with estimating prior to submitting offers, and leading a successful kickoff/alignment with the project team upon award.
  • Must provide leadership/set direction for the entire project team.
  • Responsible for planning project activities, tasks, and end results, including work breakdown, scheduling and budgeting. Also responsible for organizing, selecting, and placing the project team, and coordinating tasks and allocating resources.
  • Planning, organizing, and staffing key field positions and managing craft loading.
  • Interfacing and negotiating with internal and external project stakeholders. Representing company in project meetings; assisting in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc. Facilitating communications between all venders to coordinate a tight implementation schedule and budget. (Assure that all vendors meet the scope defined in the Contract Specifications)
  • Review architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and installation drawings to assure they meet technical requirements. Assure that all vendors meet the scope defined in the Contract Specifications.
  • Manage all financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, invoices submitted by vendors etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client. Organize, facilitate and report progress in monthly reports, including technical and financial aspects, cash flow, etc. to the Manager of Projects.
  • Collaborate with Document Control to assure all changes/revision to contracts are processed timely and accurately.
  • Prepare Change orders and gain approval for non-contract scope, prior to the execution of additional work.
  • Manage the tracking of installed quantities. (monitor and control)
  • Forecast the estimated Cost to Complete using trend information based on installed quantities/actual cost to date.
  • Review projects at the end of warranty periods for non-compliance items, and oversee the preparation of cost estimates/documentation for contract bids and payments to subcontractors.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.

DESIRED BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate must provide a minimum of three references and evidence of five (5) years experience as a project manager in the field of industrial construction. All candidates must provide a proven history of successful project management, including schedule, quality, and profitability on individual projects as well as a brief description of the projects completed. Knowledge of construction, design, finance and management, as well as, possessing excellent oral and written communication skills, decision and problem solving skills, and time management and critical thinking skills are necessary for the successful candidate.
