Harper University was established to provide easily accessible resources for employees to take advantage of classroom training led by internal industry subject matter experts and external training providers, professional associations and academic institutions. A few of the courses offered include Supervisory Skills, Behavioral Based Safety, Interviewing and Hiring Skills for managers, Conflict Resolution, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, etc. In addition, we offer online web-based training covering topics ranging from Communication, Leadership and Project Management to Desktop Applications, Teamwork and Sales.

Certificate Programs:

The “Certificate” Programs are achievements recognized by Harper Industries, Inc. and
West Kentucky Community and Technical College. The Certification Programs consist
of core competency courses within specific “skill” areas.

All courses are designed to stand alone so anyone can take any course with approval by
your immediate supervisor. Yet once you complete the requirements of a “Certification,”
a framed “Certificate of Completion” will be issued. All courses required in a
certification area will be offered within an 18 month period. Additional Certification
programs will be added over time to include “functional” areas such as
Finance/Accounting, Safety, Human Resources, Project Management, Administration
and others.
